Vallen is currently a junior in college, working on a major in East Asian Studies with a concentration in Religion and History. She is also minoring in Japanese. She attributes her international mindset to growing up in Singapore, where she and her family were given many valuable opportunities to experience different cultures. Since returning to the U.S., she has lived in Texas, Minnesota and Oregon. She is looking forward to studying abroad in Tokyo for one year beginning September 2007.
Vallen is happiest when she's spending time with friends, family, or both. She loves writing in any medium, listening to music, channeling her inner computer geek, and traveling to visit friends all around the world. When she is not doing any of those things, she can be found swimming (or any kind of exercise), watching movies, taking pictures, cooking, or reading. College coursework regrettably takes up most of her time during the school year, but she uses the summers to cut back, relax, and have fun.
