This was our first attempt at making armor...excuse, me "Cloth." We used this tutorial and the methods there. We bought the plastic here. But we started too late, and we were rushing to finish before the con. DO NOT use the expensive spray paint from Michael's! Use the cheap, decent stuff from Home Depot, or the kind recommended on the tutorial, but whatever you do, TEST it first. Also, leave time to try on the armor and make sure everything is wearable, and won't fall off or restrict movement too much. We only ended up wearing these costumes for an hour or two for the whole con. My shield (which you can't really see ;_;) was made with a frisbee for a base. Luckily Xan had a few extras in her garage! We didn't have time to make the helmets, which was depressing. I wish we had had more time to perfect it, but oh well. The image gallery is really small, because we didn't do a photoshoot for these, and they didn't survive very well. Oh, and these were also the costumes that gave rise to the "cheetah" incident.

Oh boy. Shun, aka the cranberry Tyrannosaurus Rex. I have never put more time and effort into a costume than I did into this one. Coincidentally, this is also the one that turned out the least well. ^^;; Go figure. It was our first time making armor, after all. I really enjoyed the process of making it and it was a good learning experience even if the costume didnÕt turn out well. Subsequent armor-making projects have been much more successful (see the Soul Calibur costumes) and IÕm hoping that weÕll continue to improve. Other than the experience, the best part of this costume was that I had an excuse to buy a bright green wig. ^_________^
