This costume gets the honor of being my first cosplay at my very first anime convention, Project: A-kon 13. I wanted something simple and something I didn't have to buy a wig for, and San was the answer! The dress was made out of jersey-knit cotton, so it was terribly comfortable, and I pinned my fur "cape" to my dress with saftey pins. I think the accessories were the most fun to make. I made the dagger out of an old plastic Halloween machete, hot glue, cardboard with black elastic for the handle, and red paint. Oh, and this was the first time I'd put makeup on myself! Quite an adventure. I ran around the entire weekend without shoes, so by Sunday my feet were terribly sore. But it was worth it. I remember having a lot of fun wearing this costume. Looking back on it now, I see a lot of things I could fix, but for a first cosplay it wasn't too bad!
