This costume turned out really well. It was the first 3-person group we'd done, and group cosplay is SO much more fun! especially when you have a complete group like this. And it was SO comfortable! Those samurai knew what they were doing, wearing kimonos and hakama. Here is the tutorial I used for the pants. This is one of my favorite costumes, even though it started to fall apart a bit at the end of the con. I lost the bracelet (hadn't had a chance to get a decent clasp, it fell off sometime when i was loading the car) and one of the squares fell off. Don't trust iron-on adhesive! i went ahead and re-did all of the squares afterwards, and made them a little bit larger and attached them differently. yay, fabric glue!

If IÕve never talked about how much I adore this costume, I adore it. A lot. ItÕs fun to wear, extremely comfortable, doesnÕt get too warm and offers complete freedom of movement. Considering that I wore this the same year as Shun (which was almost the exact opposite) and the year after Xion, this was a huge relief. This was also the first costume that I wore in a group, so that was another really fun experience. IÕm especially pleased with how this costume turned out in particular, especially because IÕve seen a lot of really bad Samurai Champloo cosplay and I wanted to really stand out as a good Mugen. I especially love the fabric that we made his overshirt out of. And the SHOES. Those shoes have since broken, so IÕll have to get another pair if I ever plan to wear this costume again, but next time IÕll have to put the ŌmetalĶ on the bottom like the real Mugen. Samurai Champloo cosplay rocks!
