Here you will find the previous layouts of AquaMirage.com. They're listed in reverse chronological order (newest on top) and created by Zandra unless noted otherwise. (so all the "I"'s and "me"'s you read are Zandra).
A word about the numbering system. The version number actually has two numbers. The first number indicates the number of years AM.c was around. The second number is the number of layouts that year. e.g. if it's version 3.2, it's the third year of AM.c and the second layout that year. You'll notice that the numbering system kind of dies at the end of the list (the earliest layouts) because I hadn't really started keeping track yet, and all of the previous layouts were crappy and nothing worth documenting. ^^;;

Version 6.1 This was probably one of our least family-friendly layout. Aside from possibly version 2.10. Do you recognize the image? If not, it's from Boondock Saints (written and directed by Troy Duffy). Shame on you, you need to go watch the movie fifteen times so that you will recognize every second of film from the actual movie (and the deleted scenes! "Mom Calls from Ireland" is hilarious and full of eye-candy :9 ) Anyways, I wanted to use an image that included the boys in their sexy gray bathrobes, which was a bit difficult because most of the footage is fast-paced and disorienting. I hope you enjoy this layout as much as I enjoyed making it. And if you haven't seen the movie yet, go watch it now! It's one of our favorites. And Willem Dafoe is amazing. |

Version 5.1 The first completely non-anime/manga related layout. This layout marked the beginning of the "new" AM.c--trying to expand our content to more than just a fan site with images, and also streamlining the site so that we have one layout instead of fifty different ones. The visual features Cillian Murphy, in an image scanned by Vallen. The image was edited and converted into a layout by Zandra, with aesthetic advice from Vallen and coding help from Lissa. |

Version 4.5 This layout features Zandra, Stacy, and Xan (left to right) in Samurai Champloo cosplay at A-kon 16. This was a transitional "under construction" layout, which lasted from July 2005 until February 2006. |

Version 4.4 This layout features characters from Kodaka Kazuma's Kusatta Kyoushi no Houteishiki ("Equation of a Degenerate Teacher"). The manga hasn't been translated into English yet, but it's one of my favorites. I wanted something a little lighter than the previous layout. |

Version 4.3 This layout features Setsuna from Yuki Kaori's Angel Sanctuary. It's hard to tell from the reduced screencap, but there are faint details of the image outside of the "AM.com" as well. The rest of the image was converted to black and white, then inverted. |

Version 4.2 This layout features Dilandau from Escaflowne. I realize it's a bit morbid, but what can I say? I like the way it came out. In honor of Vallen, who loves Dilandau. And black and red. |

Version 4.1 This layout features Sailor Heavy-Metal Papillion from Takeuchi Naoko's Sailor Moon. She's a character who only appears in the manga, and I love her outfit. I used a black and white manga image for this one and superimposed colors onto the image. |

Version 3.6 Who doesn't love Pchan (Takahashi Rumiko's Ranma 1/2)? Here's a Christmas layout, with the candy cane and snowflakes in the background completely generated by me. Simple, but festive. |

Version 3.5 This layout feathers the characters from Ronin Warriors, one of Xan and Vallen's favorite series. While the coloring may be a bit drab, I liked the way this one turned out. |

Version 3.4 This features the silhouettes of the Gundam Wing pilots. The original image was scanned from an artbook by Xan and myself. I think the pilots were actually in silhouette, but I inverted a couple of them. Can't go wrong with black and white! |

Version 3.3 This layout features art from Leeza Sei's Combination. I scanned the image from her "F[A/U]N" artbook (fan/fun). The first two manga books were actually done by CLAMP, but then Leeza Sei did three more books on her own. This layout is also special because it came at a time when we had an issue with AM.c. After we switched hosts, Cyberpixels (our host at the time) offered us a much cheaper domain registration price, but because we did it through a different company, the domain name "aquamirage.com" went idle for about two months, while the company thru which we originally reserved the name held onto it. It was a big mess of silly red tape, and during the down-time we moved to "notaphase.com" and had this layout. But eventually things worked out, so that was good. |

Version 3.2 This version features Kiley from Ueda Miwa's Peach Girl. Another black and white layout, with a focus on one of my favorite features. Eyes. This layout is really just a splash page, with the links on a separate page. but i just loved the eyes! |

Version 3.1 "Whatever Kamui does, Kamui will always be there to counterbalance what Kamui does. Won't he, Kamui?" Yes, we have another X layout. Featuring Kamui. And feathers. But CLAMP does such beautiful work! |

Version 2.11 This is the first layout that's generated completely by me. I made the snowflake in Photoshop. I know it's simple, but i'm pleased with the way it turned out. |

Version 2.10 Just a bit gory. ^^;; gomen. Featuring Pai and Yakumo from Takada Yuzo's 3X3 Eyes. A wonderful series, but Dark Horse Comics should get moving and translate more! Lazy bums. ANyways, about the layout...the image is from the anime, which is only about 4 episodes I think; two sets of two if I remember correctly. Anyways, this image is from the last two episodes. |

Version 2.9 This layout features the title character of Rurouni Kenshin. Pink and lots of leaves. Sort of autumn-themed. I don't really have much else to say about this one. |
![]() |
Version 2.8 Another X layout. Except it actually came before the one above...Anyways, how can you go wrong with hot guys in a school uniform? This was a back-to-school themed layout. I'm particularly fond of the quote on there: "Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard. Be evil." |

Version 2.7 A nice, bright summer layout featuring Momo from Ueda Miwa's Peach Girl. I felt the colors and subject matter were appropriate for the season. |
![]() |
Version 2.6 Vash is so cool. (Yasuhiro Nightow's Trigun) I love all the artwork for the manga, and even though this is yet another black and white layout, Vash with his "love and peace!" still gives it a fun flair. |
![]() |
Version 2.5 Another one of my favorite series, Takahashi Rumio's Ranma 1/2. I scanned the image from a postcard. Ranma and Ryouga are so cuuuuute! And I like the bright, happy colors. |
![]() |
Version 2.4 This features Zechs from Gundam Wing. No, I don't advocate drunkenness, i just liked the colors! Plus Zechs is yummy and shirtless.... 0:9 |

Version 2.? This is a really old layout, probably version 2.3 but I'm really not sure. This was from back when I was still obsessed with rollover images. ^^;;; big and tacky, is how i see it now. Oh, features Sue from CLAMP's Clover. |

Version 1.X/2.1? Again, not sure about the actual version number of this one. It was my first shot at image maps, turned out ok I guess. The tree image in the background is actually a Photoshop-ed picture of my own tree that year. This marks the end of the tacky and numerous Sailor Mercury-themed images (because of the name of the site, I felt like we had to continue with the theme for awhile at the beginning ^^;;). |
